 For teachers of young children 2 - kindergarten age Are children coming to school sleepy, hungry, full of anxiety, fear, or anger? Beneath behaviors it is important to know exposure to a traumatic event that can affect learning and behavior. Research suggests that approximately 25% of children will have one childhood trauma by 16, while 26% of children under the age of 4 have witnessed or experienced trauma. A trauma-informed approach is fundamental for preschools and childcare centers to ensure an environment of safety and growth. In this workshop you will learn how Conscious Discipline, a trauma responsive program, can help you meet the needs of children facing trauma in your school setting.
