Virtual workshops will happen in real time and per WCPSS policy cannot be recorded for later viewing and may not be recorded by participants.

TPB2634 - Using Visuals to Prevent and Reduce Challenging Behaviors

For teachers of young children 3-5 years of age

Teachers often rely solely on verbal communication to guide children, but that may not always be enough to capture or maintain their attention. Visual supports offer concrete cues that help all children better understand expectations, manage transitions, complete tasks, follow safety rules, engage with the curriculum, and more. They are a proactive strategy for supporting both teachers and children throughout the day.
Join us to explore how to use visual supports effectively and efficiently in the preschool classroom. This workshop takes place in the Demonstration Preschool Classroom, offering a firsthand look at how teachers implement visual supports. Participants will also tour the Production Area of the Parent Teacher Resource Center as an option for making visual supports.
